How do you find a leak in a buried water main?
Acoustic and electronic diagnostics, from the surface. A pressurized leak makes noise and disturbs its surroundings in ways instruments can read; working along the run, the technician narrows the leak to a documented indication zone. Nothing is excavated to find it; the excavation happens once, where the evidence points.
How do I know I have a water main leak at all?
The classic signs: a water bill that climbed and stayed up, unexplained wet or green patches along the run, low pressure, or a meter that spins with every fixture off. A buried main can lose water for months before anything shows at the surface. The bill usually knows first.
I am a homeowner. Do you handle residential water mains?
Yes. The buried line from the public shut-off at the street to your house is yours to maintain, and finding a leak in it is exactly this service. What we are not is a plumbing leak service: leaks in the plumbing inside the house are a plumber’s call.
What do I get at the end?
Leak indication zones marked and documented, field notes, and a written report of findings and limitations. We perform no repairs. The report is what your contractor digs from, and the indication zone sits where the readings put it because we are not the ones digging.
